Yoga & Pilates
Physiotherapy and Pilates
The original Pilates exercises are not always right for everyone – they are designed for the fit, healthy population who have good balance and body awareness. Unfortunately if you have had an injury in the past, this can be very difficult and leave you dissatisfied, or in some cases, cause an exacerbation of the condition.
For Physiotherapy, the exercises have been modified so they are now more appropriate for everyone; taught in a closely supervised, controlled way, tailored and adapted for the individuals needs and set at achievable levels, so the maximum benefits and enjoyment can be achieved at each session.
Techniques are based on the most current research on stabilisation of the pelvis and the spine.
The benefits of modified Pilates:
- Mind/Body exercise regime,
- Improve your posture,
- Improve core stability (balance)
- develops strength and fitness
- Improve flexibility
- reduces the risk of re-injury
